RICS Building Surveys
We carry out detailed RICS Building Surveys on properties throughout London including Richmond, Kingston-upon-Thames, Fulham, Kensington and Mayfair.
All our Surveys are completed by Chartered Building Surveyors, full professional members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
An RICS Building Survey (previously known as a Structural Survey) is designed to provide the buyer with expert building advice before proceeding with a purchase.
An RICS Building Survey is a Level Three Survey and is more involved than a Homebuyers Survey Report.

The survey work starts by assessing building age, how each property has been built and changes made over time. Before we even inspect a home, desktop research is completed involving examination of British Geological Survey maps.
Once on site we will conduct a detailed visual inspection of the building and the site.
Binoculars may be used to assess high level areas.
A telescopic Surveyor’s ladder is on hand for use when necessary.
Accessible roof spaces will be inspected as part of our survey work.
Damp meter testing will be completed using a Protimeter Surveymaster, a dual mode moisture meter allowing the user to distinguish between sub-surface and surface moisture.
Inspection chamber covers (below ground drainage) will be lifted where possible. We will visually assess services installations.
Our survey inspections typically last four to five hours.
An RICS Building Survey will tell you about:

We are able to calculate budget cost estimates for repairs based on tender data, Building Construction Information Service rates or through building contractors.
All reports are detailed, written in plain English and issued with annotated photographs.
